From enthusiastic youth to world-weary old age, from the pinnacle of glory to the depths of despair, Lafayette never stopped fighting for the rights of all mankind. Thanks to the publisher for providing an eARC of Walking in Two Worlds in exchange for an honest review. Finally, as a revered elder statesman, he was instrumental in the overthrow of the Bourbon Dynasty in the Revolution of 1830. After his release, Lafayette sparred with Napoleon, joined an underground conspiracy to overthrow King Louis XVIII, and became an international symbol of liberty. Returning home a national hero, he helped launch the French Revolution, eventually spending five years locked in dungeon prisons. Mike Duncans insightful, impressive biography of the Marquis de Lafayette can be appreciated by history. The in game music and sounds come together beautifully adding to the liveliness that Two Worlds is trying to give us, the animal sounds are all original and adds that realistic feel to them. By today’s standards, it’s fair to say that the graphics are outdated, just as it’s fair to say that running it on maximum setting does. It was the ideal mind-set and I found myself very pleasantly surprised by how much this game has going for it. As a teenager, Lafayette ran away from France to join the American Revolution. Absolutely amazing, the theme song truly is a work of art, it is an absolute joy to listen to before hitting that load button. I went into Two Worlds on the back of some very mixed reviews, not expecting a lot from it. He was a soldier, statesman, idealist, philanthropist, and abolitionist. Over fifty incredible years at the heart of the Age of Revolution, he fought courageously on both sides of the Atlantic. Few in history can match the revolutionary career of the Marquis de Lafayette. Hero of Two Worlds entertained, and it taught me a great deal about Lafayettes later years and his time in Austrian prison.
